First…I was nominated for an award!
Hello wonderful readers. Have I mentioned how thankful I am for you lately? Whether you’re a subscriber, an occasional reader, or have just popped over from Pinterest or another website, I’m happy you’re here. As long as I still have people visiting—and hopefully enjoying—my blog, I will continue making content. (If I’m being honest, I’d probably still continue posting even if everyone disappeared. After all, I did that for a long time before anyone found me!)
One of my goals has always been inspiring others to tackle their own DIY projects and make their home something they love. A major part of that—and of my life—is photography. That’s why I am so excited that my little blog has been nominated for the Best Use Of Photography category of the 2018 Amara Interior Blog Awards.
You can vote for me here. It’s easy, only requires your name and email, and takes just a few seconds. I’d be so thankful, and it would truly mean a lot to me. The top five that are shortlisted are invited to the awards ceremony in the UK. Last year’s ceremony was hosted by Sophie Robinson and Daniel Hopwood, which you may recognize from BBC Two’s The Great Interior Design Challenge. (I definitely binged on the ENTIRE series while home after having Ramona.)
If you have a few extra moments and want to check out some other blogs, here are some blogging pals/generally awesome blogs nominated in other categories!
- Best Colour Inspiration Blog: Casa Watkins Living
- Best Craft Blog: Up to Date Interiors
- Best Design Inspiration Blog: Domicile 37
- Best DIY & Home Improvement Blog: Home Made by Carmona and House by the Bay
- Best Written Blog: Love Create Celebrate and Monica Wants It
Second…I created a Facebook group!
A group of awesome other bloggers and I have started a Facebook community. Modern DIY & Home: Sharing Projects, Inspiration, and Ideas is up and running. We envision this to be a great space to interact with people who have similar styles to ours. We are going strong at about 42 members (killing the game), so we need you to join us to get this going.
There really aren’t that many rules. Admins will be sharing posts throughout the week; there will be a themed share thread for everyone on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and you can post pictures and questions whenever. For now the content is mostly from the blogger admins since there aren’t that many members yet. But don’t let that deter you. You do not have to be a blogger to join—in fact, we want this to be more reader- and community-focused. ALL are welcome! Hope to see you over there.
That’s all for now, folks. Thanks for reading. Back to the projects!
