I have been writing this post in my head for a while now—I finally decided to just sit down, put fingers to keyboard, and write it: I have decided to retire my blog.
It has been a really great few years, and I’m thankful for all of the relationships and connections I’ve made. But if I’m being honest, running a DIY/home blog has lost some of the appeal it once had. I can’t really explain it—I guess I’m just burnt out. I work a full-time job, and keeping up with everything has become more of a chore than something I enjoy doing. Also, a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff like social media and the hustle of constantly trying to create good content for you has just become too much right now. I just know it’s time to retire things. I’m planning to keep all of my archives up, and I will probably keep my mailing list up in case I ever decide to come out of retirement for an occasional project or two. Which, knowing me, is likely 🙂
So what’s next for me? I’m starting a new side project that will take me in a different direction. In the meantime, you can also always keep in touch with me over on Instagram. I’ll still be doing some freelance painting and DIY projects that I’ll make sure to share there, too. 🙂 Oh, and I’ll still be pinning stuff when I’m bored.
But Before I Go…
But before I go, I want to take a walk down memory lane and share my ten favorite projects. Because I can’t just close up shop without browsing through my archives for a few hours and agonizing over whether this is the right decision or not. So here they are! (In no particular order, except obviously the cat tree is my favorite.)
Take care, everyone. I’ll see you around 🙂
Comment spam is the worst.
And it's why I had to turn off comments on my posts that are older than a few weeks. However, I want to know if you have a question! You can hop over to my Instagram or Facebook pages and leave a comment or send me a direct message. Thank you for visiting and reading!
