This post is part of my week of Christmas ornament DIYs series. I’m sharing 7 different DIY projects for clear ball ornaments, each of which you can complete in 30 minutes or less. Today I’m experimenting with alcohol ink to make abstract splatter patterns. You can see all of the DIYs here!
Abstract Alcohol Ink Christmas Ornaments
Day 3, let’s jump right in! Today I’m sharing my DIY alcohol ink ornaments. It’s super easy. Like, if you aren’t good at painting or crafting but you’re good at using an eye dropper, stick around.
Here’s what I used.
(This post contains affiliate links. You can read more about that here. Thank you!)
- Clear plastic ball ornaments
- Alcohol ink
- Acrylic paint
- Small paper cups
- Disposable gloves
- Paper towels
And here’s how I made DIY alcohol ink ornaments.
I took a few different approaches: for some, I squirted the ink onto the top of the ornaments and let it drip down. Some I flipped the ornament upside down and let the ink drip “up.” On others, I did squiggles around the ornament for a more abstract look.
Step 3: You can hang them to dry, or if you’re pouring an ornament that’s upside down, just let it dry in place.
