How to Use Cricut Adhesive Foil
Hey guys! I’m back today for my third and final Cricut post. If you’re just catching up, my first post was about my first impressions of the Cricut Explore Air 2, and my second post was about creating a project from start to finish in Cricut’s Design Space.
For today’s post, I’m going to chat about how to use Cricut adhesive foil to customize an Ikea Papaja plant pot. I love these pots because they are only $2, but they are chic and can be easily customized:

- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Cricut Metallic Adhesive
- Ikea Papaja Plant Pot (I painted mine black)
- Diamond cut file in the Cricut Design Space (#M369883)
And here’s how to use Cricut adhesive foil on a plant pot!
Step 1: If you want to paint your pot like I painted mine, do so and then let it dry. I used some DecoArt Americana Decor Satin Enamels in Classic Black that I had on hand. This is my favorite paint for projects like this.
Step 2: Navigate to the diamond cut file in the Cricut Design Space. (It’s #M369883.) The diamond is sized perfectly to fit the 4 1/4″ Papaja plant pot.

Step 3: Put the metallic foil onto the Cricut mat and cut the diamond. The metallic foil should be facing metallic side UP.

Step 4: Peel the diamond off from the adhesive backing and place carefully onto the pot. It will be just like a sticker.

And that’s it—it’s done! What do you think ? I love the black and gold together (as you can see from the other black and gold painted pot I have on the same shelves). I put a fake plant in the pot.
