There’s one week and one day until Christmas Eve…have you finished your shopping? We’re not doing much gift exchanging this year, and I still haven’t finished mine. Mike and I aren’t getting each other presents, and I only have one present to give on my side of the family and on Mike’s. We drew names, which is something Mike’s side of the family has always done, but this is the first year my side of the family is going that route.
I’ve already taken care of my gift for Mike’s side of the family—I got my sister-in-law’s wife. I actually haven’t even met her yet, and she only had one suggested thing on her list! So I threw in something extra. Whitney, if you’re reading this, I threw it in because Jessica had it on her list. 😉 My brother-in-law got me a bunch of Frogtape and a new paintbrush, which are both great gifts for me. Mike’s sister-in-law Lori got him this Secura Electric Wine Opener (affiliate link!), which is something we’d never buy for ourselves but we LOVE. We feel very fancy using it to open our $2.99 Three Wishes wine from Whole Foods.
I also need to buy a white elephant gift for a bigger Christmas Eve gift exchange we’re doing with extended family on my side. It needs to be $25 or less. I can’t decide if I want to do something practical, something nice, or something funny. I think I might buy a really nice thing of olive oil from this great local place in Frederick. They have the absolute best selection of regular and infused olive oils and balsamic vinegar. If you ever find yourself in Frederick, you must stop by!
New This Week…
I published a few posts: my easy winter stove top potpourri (below) has made my house smell amazing for several days now, while my Petcube has been keeping me entertained torturing the cats. If you’re an animal person, you must check out that post for the full Petcube review. There is still time to get it via the website or Amazon Prime in time for Christmas! 😉
I got this Ryobi 10-inch Miter Saw (affiliate link!) last week and broke it in working on a new shelving unit for my craft/storage closet makeover. I learned how to use a miter saw at my dad’s shop, and since he is a fancy construction professional, his is a bit bigger and beefier than mine. But that’s okay, this one suits me just fine. And it’s nice not having to go to his shop every time I need to make a small cut.
Oh, and I’ve been on the rebound all week from learning Tarek and Christina are splitting.
But they are still remaining professional partners? I wonder if the number of flops will increase. Martha and Snoop’s show getting renewed for a second season lifted my spirits a bit.
